Conference Concept

Rainfed-drylands, as an important biome, occupy more than 41% of the world’s land area and provide much of the world’s food and fibre, further supporting biodiversity and providing ecosystem services (UNCCD, 2017). Climate change, which is expected to manifest as increased frequency and intensity of extreme climate events including droughts is particularly of concern in rainfed agroecosystems species and communities have to cope with extreme temperature and droughts..

General Information

About Hyderabad city

Hyderabad (5th Largest City in India), is the capital city of Telangana State (3rd Largest State in India). Hyderabad was founded by Muhammad Quli Qutub Shah in 1591 on the banks of Musi. Today the city covers an area of approximately 650 square km.

Time Zone

India has a single time zone. It is 5.5 hours ahead of the GMT, 4.5 hours behind the Australian Eastern Standard time and 11.5 hours ahead of American Eastern Standard Time (winter).

Weather

Weather during the conference period from 22-24 December 2022 would be very pleasant mostly dry and cool with mean minimum temperature ranging from 10 to 15 degree Celsius and maximum mean temperature around 28 degrees Celsius

Language

The official language of Hyderabad is Telugu but there are various other regional languages spoken by the people of the state of Telangana. English is used for official and commercial purposes. Most people on the streets understand and converse in English. The other languages popular here in Hyderabad are Urdu and Hindi.

Taxis are on call 24hrs over the telephone/online/mobile apps. Air-conditioned taxis are available at both the International and domestic terminals of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The distance from airport to venue is approximately 22kms.
